If the word “Woodstock” brings to mind fond memories of the best 4 days of your life, then you don’t want to be left out of this year’s “Maplewoodstock Art & Music Festival” which will be held Saturday July 9th – Sunday July 10th. The festivities will begin around noon and end around 9pm at Memorial Park near homes in Maplewood, NJ. Maplewood is a unique community of talented, artistic, and creative individuals who share a love of community, music and art. The concert is FREE, but bring some cash if you want to partake of the fine food available for purchase -made possible by local restaurateurs: Cupcake Corral, Freeman’s Fish Market, Maisah’s, America’s Pride Ice Cream, and Suzy Que’s BBQ…just to name a few.
There are 22 bands scheduled to play including: Raul Malo, The Revelations, Seth Walker, and The Smithereens – who will close out the festival on Sunday night near homes in Maplewood, NJ.
It was forty-two years ago, that Woodstock Music & Art Fair presented An Aquarian Exposition held in White Lake, New York August 15 to August 18. Thirty-two acts performed outdoors in front of 500,000 concert-goers. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most pivotal moments in popular music history and was listed among Rolling Stone’s 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll.
Maplewoodstock may be on a slightly smaller scale, but nonetheless, will be a weekend to remember for both young and old!
