Chatham, New Jersey is comprised of two areas with two zip codes: 07928 and 07028.

Well-known singing legend Nat King Cole even grew up in Chatham. Homes in Chatham NJ  consist of a mix of bungalows, Victorians, Tudors, Colonials, and town homes. Residents are not eager to sell in this delightful close-knit neighborhood. Chatham Boro, with it’s easy access to town and the Midtown Direct Train is treelined with a mixture of country and suburban chaos that goes hand and hand. Within the boro their are 4 sections. Lafayette, Washington, Manor and the Village Section.

The Chatham Newcomers and Neighborhood Club include singles, couples, young and mature families, energetic participants and members who prefer to drop in occasionally. Sports play a big part of this community and it’s not just an attraction for the kids! Living in Chatham, NJ has been receiving a lot of publicity in the last few years. Mostly, because not a lot has changed. With the tree lined streets and an ice cream parlor on every corner, Chatham homes are fiercly in demand.

The Chatham Club, located twenty-five miles from New York City was built in 1976. The club has matured into a full service squash and fitness facility. Center Court in Chatham boasts five international courts and the latest in sports training equipment. Centercourt Athletic Club holds the distinguished honor of being named a USTA Regional Training Center and is one of the nation’s leading racquets facilities offering the best year-round opportunity to play racquet sports in the Northeast.   The Noe Pond Club, a member-owned, non-profit family swim club, was founded in 1955 by Nancy Tasman Brower and Bailey Brower Jr. , The three-and-a-half-acre pond, the Club’s hallmark, has been an important part of the Chatham Township community.  Today,the Club amenities include a large dock, diving boards, slides, a float, a variety of small boats, a second white sand beach, fountains, ten Har-Tru and turf tennis courts, a paddle hut with 4 lighted Paddle courts, a pavilion, playgrounds, the Club grill, picnic areas, clubhouse with locker rooms, a paved parking lot, and expansive landscaped and well-maintained grounds.

Chatham New Jersey charms its residents and remains close to the city, making for an easy commute along the New Jersey MidTown Direct and Newark Liberty Airport. CHATHAM BOROUGH PARKING PERMITS

Parking Permits for the Chatham Borough Railroad Station are available to Chatham Borough residents only, at a yearly cost of $425.00. At the present time there is a waiting list for Railroad Permits. Metered parking is available to the general public at $5.50 per day. All metered spaces are numerically marked and exact change should be deposited in the box on the platform and the space number should be entered. A receipt will be issued as proof of payment.

We also maintain three parking lots for business owners/employees and apartment residents.( Bowers Lane, Center Street East and Center Street West).

Return your permits when you move for a pro-rated refund. Improper transfer of permits will result in revocation and summons.

If you live in the Township the town does not provide parking at this time. Many people drive to Summit and can park for $10 daily.

Schools in Chatham

 

Chatham Borough and Chatham Township, located in north-central New Jersey. Although separate towns, Chatham Borough and Chatham Township share library services and a school district. Chatham’s unique and excellent schools are one of the greatest attractions for residents. Chatham New Jersey is home to four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.

One unique feature of the Chatham Middle School is the way each grade is divided into “houses,” creating a smaller, more intimate atmosphere. There are four elementary schools: kids go to Milton Avenue, Southern Boulevard, or Washington Avenue from kindergarten to grade 3 and then on to Lafayette School for fourth and fifth grade. 

The Full School Rankings are in for 2014 and Chatham High School has come #1 over all in the state!
