If you live in South Orange, the place to go to enjoy great live concerts is the South Orange Performing Arts Center. Now in its 10th year, SOPAC brings top-notch performers to the area. Upcoming concerts include the Seton Hall University spring concerts for the orchestra and chorale, an evening of Cuban music with Juan de Marcos and the Afro-Cuban All Stars, acoustic music by singer-songwriter John Hiatt, and a night of live readings by local writers celebrating women and mothers.
Enjoy an Evening of Fun on South Orange Property
SOPAC is located on downtown South Orange property, making it a great destination for a date night. Have dinner at one of the unique cafes or restaurants, then head to a show. Even if there isn’t a show scheduled, visit the art gallery. The Herb and Milly Iris Gallery, on the second and third floors of the building, is a space where artists who live in South Orange and other nearby towns can exhibit their work. The gallery hosts two or three exhibits a year and is open Monday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. It’s also open for two hours before every show. The artwork is also for sale and, some of the proceeds benefit SOPAC.
Visit SOPAC to see the full schedule of upcoming concerts and the latest exhibition at the gallery.
